In 2022, Ypsilanti Township went through a rebranding process resulting in our new logo and tagline “where your future grows”. History put Ypsilanti Township on the map, but now discover our trails, lake, and diverse, growing community.

Our Mission & Vision

Ypsilanti Township’s mission is to foster our vibrant and welcoming community by utilizing its fiscal and environmental resources responsibly and maintain our residents’ trust through service and respect.

Ypsilanti Township will thoughtfully grow as an inclusive community that protects residential character and historic resources, promotes multi-beneficial development and ensures respect for the environment.

You don’t have to travel far, you just need to travel to Ypsilanti Township to find the perfect balance of city living with small-town connections, beautiful nature, growing businesses and excellent educational institutions.

New Website Features for You

Following the rebranding process, a new and improved website was developed using feedback from residents and Ypsilanti Township staff while keeping in mind the mission and vision for the future of our community. Navigating a new website might be challenging at first, but we hope this change will make it easier to find what you are looking for and access any service or resource Ypsilanti Township has to offer.

Five features we want to introduce to get you started:

1. Accessibility Menu
   

   In the bottom left-hand corner of your screen, you will see the icon of a person inside a circle. This menu provides several tools to help make ypsitownship.org more accessible. You can adjust elements such as contrast, text size, highlight links, use dyslexia friendly fonts, and more.

2. The “How can we help you?” Site Search
   

   This feature will search ypsitownship.org for keywords or related keywords you type into the search box. Keep in mind that this search box and others you may find throughout our new website can search for documents by title, but cannot search for keywords within documents.
   
   Please note that while we migrate from the old website to the new website, the site search as well as search engines like Google may return old links in the search results for a couple of weeks.

3. Upcoming Events
   

   Stay in-the-know with our Upcoming Events calendar, located on the home page below Latest News. Only the next 3 upcoming events will appear in the list, but you can view the entire month or months ahead by clicking on the "See All Events" button.
   
   Use the colored category buttons to view only items from one individual category at a time.

4. Subscribe to Ypsilanti Township Email & Social Media
   

   Near the bottom of the home page, you will find the form to subscribe our email list. Receive email notifications when something important is added to ypsitownship.org as well as weekly reminders and updates.

   In the footer of our website, you will see the familiar icons to social media platforms. You can find us on Facebook, Instagram, Nextdoor, Twitter, and YouTube.

5. Contact Forms & Website Feedback
   

   From the main menu at the top of ypsitownship.org, you will notice the Contact link. You can find contact information for Ypsilanti Township Departments and where to Report a Concern.

   Select a Department to view the phone number and/or use the web form to send an email to staff.

   Use the Report a Concern form to submit Ordinance Violations, Sidewalk Concerns, or any issues you may come across on our new website such as a broken link or a feature that does not work.

   Please enter valid contact information and preferred method of contact so staff can reach out if there are any questions or follow-up relating to your inquiry. This helps us to be able to resolve the issue.
