Civil Service Commission Vacancy

The Charter Township of Ypsilanti has a vacancy to fill on the Civil Service Commission

The Civil Service Commission is scheduled to meet on the third Wednesday of every other month beginning in January at 4:30pm, with Special Meetings as needed. The commission oversees the testing and hiring of firefighters for Ypsilanti Township. 

To qualify for the Civil Service Commission, candidates must be:
  • a registered voter in Washtenaw County for at least 3 years
  • a resident in the Charter Township of Ypsilanti for at least 1 year
  • 18 years of age or older, and a U.S. citizen

Those interested must send a letter of interest and resume to the Charter Township of Ypsilanti Clerk’s Office (email clerk@ypsitownship.org, or deliver to the Clerk’s Office at the Civic Center (7200 S Huron River Dr, Ypsilanti, MI 48197). Please note that Civic Center hours are 8:30am – 4:30pm, closed 12:00pm - 1:00pm for lunch daily.

Submissions will be accepted until 11:59am on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. The Board of Trustees will consider these appointments at the Tuesday, May 7, 2024 Board Meeting at 6:00pm.
